The Richest Man in Babylon is a book written by George Samuel Clason originally published in 1926.

I cherished reading every page of the book. Priceless invaluable lessons laid out in such interesting interconnected short stories.

If you are looking to learn some finance management without getting bored, this book is the right choice. The stories are beautiful & lessons learned can be put into practice instantly.

Learnings:

  • A part of all you earn is yours to keep
  • Wealth, like a tree, grows from a tiny seed
  • Save one-tenth of what you earn
  • A man’s wealth is not in the coins he carries in his purse, but in the golden stream that continually flows into his purse
  • Seek to learn the methods and the tools of those most skillful in the same line
  • Procrastination is an enemy, ever watching and waiting to thwart my accomplishments
  • Procrastination is the habit of needless delaying where the action is required, action prompt and decisive
  • Good luck can be enticed by accepting opportunity
  • Men of action are favored by the goddesses of good luck
  • The soul of a free man looks at life as a series of problems to be solved and solves them, while the soul of a slave whines

So must every man master his own spirit of procrastination before he can expect to share in the rich treasures of Babylon
